I want to give you some ideas of work I’ve done in the past. Please keep in mind this is not all the work I’ve done, just some ideas of what I can do for you.
Example 1:
I had a gentlemen who didn’t know the name of his great- grandfather because it was never listed on the birth certificate for his grandfather. All he had to go on was a possible last name (also known as surname) that was passed down through oral history. That little piece of information was enough for me to find the name and give him proof that it was the right person.
*This project took me roughly a week and a half.
Example 2:
A lady wanted to investigate her nationality and was also interested in any information I could find on her family. After further review I realized the key to her nationality was in adoption records. Unfortunately, adoption records can only be accessed by family. Once I learned of this I wanted to locate information for her that she may not have already known. While doing so I came across a distant relative of hers…an adopted young boy, who had died from a gunshot wound in a possible hunting accident. My client took this to an older relative and was able to confirm this information.
*This project took one week.
Example 3:
A gentleman from Europe came to me looking for assistance with American records research. He had obtained a copy of a newspaper article regarding the death of his great grandfather. In that article it stated his great grandfather had a living son in a nearby state. He was unaware of the son’s name and needed some assistance. While the article was found to be incorrect, I did find records to indicate otherwise. There was indeed one son who had left Norway on a free passage to America.
*This project took nearly one month.
